Glad you stopped by. If you stay awhile you will learn a little about me, the work I do, and the things I think are important and enjoyable. I am a retired adjunct assistant professor in the College of Education at the University of Arizona in Tucson. I now teach a summer class for the Dept of Special Education, Rehabilitation, and School Psychology.
My research interest is in the area of play behavior of young children. This web site contains a Play Reference List, and a journal article concerning what I have discovered about the play patterns of young deaf children.
I have also posted a book chapter I co-authored concerning the state of inclusive settings for young children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing. If you would like to know more about the professional me, you can read my curriculum vitae.
My Life in Tucson, Arizona...
My family has lived in Tucson for 29 years, and I now feel at home in the Sonoran Desert. It was a big change after living in Boulder, Colorado for 15 years. From my front window at home I can see desert vegetation, Palo Verde trees, the Santa Catalina Mountains, and lots of quail, rabbits, and lizards. I no longer flinch at the lizards running across the path... but I definitely panic when a snake or a scorpion gets into the house (it has happened two or three times).
My husband is a retired IBM engineer, and for the past nineteen years has owned, run and nurtured his company, West Press, It is certainly a change of pace and focus from his former life in the corporate world.
So.... stay and look around a bit. I'm sure you will find some of the links very interesting. |
